However, other regions experienced a slight increase in temperature, with lows rising above 13 degrees Celsius.

Due to strong winds, ferry services between Xiamen and Kinmen were suspended on December 16. The Kinmen County Harbor Bureau forecasts that services may resume around noon, depending on wind conditions. Gale-force winds reaching level eight were recorded earlier that day, leading to the temporary halt. Officials warn that the windy weather could continue to disrupt ferry schedules, and advise passengers to stay informed and make alternative travel arrangements.

The Yushan Weather Station in Taipei recorded a temperature of minus 6.6 degrees Celsius and dense fog with visibility down to 50 meters. Snowfall above 3,500 meters is expected in the central mountain ranges. Daytime temperatures in northern Taiwan are around 20 degrees Celsius, dropping to 15-16 degrees at night. Outside the north, nighttime temperatures are expected to range between 17 and 20 degrees. Residents and visitors in affected areas are advised to dress warmly and stay updated on weather conditions, especially those planning to traverse or visit elevated mountain regions.

Currently classified as a moderate typhoon, Typhoon Khanun has significantly adjusted its projected path. Initially expected to approach China’s eastern coastal areas directly, Typhoon Khanun is now expected to stall in the East China Sea and change its course towards the northeast, possibly affecting Japan and South Korea, according to the latest Central Weather Bureau (CWB) forecast.

Following the departure of Typhoon Doksuri, Typhoon Khanun has already strengthened into a moderate typhoon over the weekend. The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) expects the typhoon to be at its closest proximity to Taiwan on Tuesday and Wednesday (Aug. 1-2), prompting caution for unstable weather.
